Description

1945 Pepsi Ink Blotter - Tempty Tasty - Double Dot - Used with fountain pens - size 7 1/4" x 3 1/2".  The blotter is in excellent condition for 75 years of age!  There are some very tiny discoloration "dots" on a couple locations, and an extremely tiny "ding" on the corner of the cardboard under the C-131 print.  The reverse side of the blotter is in really superb shape, with one area at the top that maybe was an old water mark.
According to the 2002 book by Bob Stoddard, entitled "The Encyclopedia of Pepsi Cola Collectibles", 'blotters have gone the way of the fountain pen.  Once a necessity on every desk, the invention of the ballpoint pen made these obsolete.  Blotters were made of heavy paper and used to blot ink from fountain pens.  This makes these collectibles rare and valuable".  In that book from 2002, the rarity was rated "C" and valued at .  Opening bid is less than that amount.
