was a
major regional carrier in the United States from 1948-1989
. Originally serving as a feeder carrier from small airports in the Carolinas and Virginia, it expanded after deregulation in the 1980s throughout the Southeast, Florida, the Northeast, and as far west as California; it also operated a route to London, England. It

in 1989 Piedmont came under the fold of USAir.

announces triple reward miles for Piedmont's frequent flyer program
.
This is a LARGE publication
. It measures appx 9x4 inches unopened and
contains 228 pages
. In addition to the flight listings, it has a
fold-out map showing the US and Piedmont's flight system; gate maps of the Charlotte, Baltimore and Dayton hubs;
a directory of Piedmont ticket offices; and some very neat period advertising
("Shortest Line to the Movies" -
promoting service from Baltimore to Los Angeles).
