Syracuse's wear layer is constructed from 4-millimeter solid European Oak hardwood and its core is comprised of a two to nine-layer plywood. All of these layers combined to result in a 5/8"(16mm) total plank thickness. Each box of Syracuse contains 9.3 square feet of engineered hardwood. The total width of each and every plank is 4-3/4". The total length of each individual board in a box is fixed at 23-5/8" inches long.Wire brushed floors offer a subtle texture to the surface feel while maintaining a soft and smooth appearance. Wire bristles are used to remove the softer grain within the wood, thus, accentuating the harder grain and creating a beautifully textured surface with added character. Directly after wire brushing, we apply a UV Oil finish for added protection. Constructed from layers of plywood, topped by a solid European Oak veneer, our floors have become extremely popular and the preferred choice by homeowners and contractors nationwide.
