CZECH COMMEMORATIVE SILVER COIN 500 Kc
On October 17, 2018, the Czech National Bank will issue a commemorative silver 500 crown coin for the 100th anniversary of the Washington Declaration. The 500-crown coin is struck from an alloy containing 925 parts of silver and 75 parts of copper and is issued in two versions, standard and proof, which differ in surface finish and edge design. For top quality coins, the coin field is highly polished and the relief is matte, the edge is smooth with the inscription "ČESKÁ NÁRODNÍ BANKA * Ag 0.925 * 25 g *". Ordinary quality coins have a serrated edge. The diameter of the coin is 40 mm, the weight is 25 g and the thickness is 2.90 mm. As with any coinage, deviations of 0.1 mm in diameter and 0.15 mm in thickness are allowed for these coins. An upward tolerance of 0.50 g is allowed in weight and an upward tolerance of 1% in silver content.
On the obverse of the coin, the outline of the Washington Declaration depicts a heraldic figure of a Czech lion carrying a heart plaque depicting the emblem of Slovakia on its chest. To the left, bottom and right of the outline of the document is the text "SUCCESS, SUCCESS, SUCCESS OF OUR INDEPENDENCE CZECHOSLOVAKS!". Around the circumference of five hundred crowns, in the description there is an indication of the nominal value of the coin with the abbreviation of the monetary unit "500 CZK" and the text "ČESKÁ REPUBLIKA", which are separated by a dot. The mark of the Czech Mint, which consists of a composition of the letters "Č" and "M", is located at the upper edge of the coin. On the reverse of the 500-crown coin, the silhouette of the Washington Capitol building is shown in the foreground, under which there is a document with a loose stylization of part of the text of the Washington Declaration and the name "TOMÁŠ GARRIGUE MASARYK". To the left of the document is the name "M.R.ŠTEFÁNIK" and to the right "E.BENEŠ". The document covers the flag of Czechoslovakia, the letter "V" is placed in its lap. Around the circumference of the coin is in a closed description the text "WASHINGTON DECLARATION 1918-2018". At the lower edge of the coin is the initial of the author of the MgA coin. Jakub Orava, which is formed by the letter "O" in the box.
