DCT Universal Ratcheting Hardwood Plank Jack - Laminate Vinyl Flooring Tools Installation Wood Floor Jack Install ToolCreate straight floorboards by tightening crooked planks/strips into place for nailing and joining with the Deadwood Crafted Tools Hardwood Plank Jack Hardwood Tool. Place on flooring against wall or wall-stud. When starting at a straight line (usually snapped onto subfloor with chalk line), nail or glue down the flooring strip. The starting line should be close enough to wall so a strip of finish molding will cover whatever gap exists between wall and first strip. Pull lever handle to ratchet faceplate against a stationary surface. Optionally, use a wooden backboard when stud location or wall is not accessible. Continue to ratchet until flooring is in the desired position. Nail or glue down the flooring strip, then push the lever handle forward fully and pull the jack base manually.
