Up for sale today is this Limited Ed Bill Purdom Special K Sandy Koufax Lithograph Framed Dodgers Yankees. This is a great limited edition lithograph in excellent condition. It is number 222 of 600 produced. The lithogrpah is from 1994 and is signed by artist Bill Purdom. The name of the lithograph is Special K.  It's October 2, 1963, Game 1 of the World Series at Yankee Stadium in The Bronx, and that's Dodger southpaw Sandy Koufax fanning Harry Bright to end one of the most brilliant pitching performances in World Series history. Bright is Koufax' 15th strikeout victim, breaking the World Series single game strikeout record of 14 set by Brooklyn's Carl Erskine against the Yankees in 1953. Koufax's effort helped the Dodgers to a 5-2 victory, and they went on to sweep the Yankees in four games. Koufax, who was the Game 4 winner too, compiled a 25-5 record in 1963. The future Hall of Famer led the league in wins, ERA (1.88), strikeouts (306), and shutouts (11), and was named the National League's Most Valuable Player and baseball's Cy Young Award winner. Litho measures 16" x 36.25" without frame and 20.5" x 40.5" including the frame. Comes in a green metal frame with white matte and green trim boarder. This is ready t hang in the man cave / She Shed.
