Description
Up for auction is a vintage (1940's)wooden Pepsi:Cola bottle carrier. The metal trimmed wood caddy features the 1940's Double Dot Pepsi:Cola logo on both sides. The logo is surrounded by the words Bigger Better. The carrier is also marked on one interior wall and reads "The new consumer case - Trademark-". A metal and turning wood handle is affixed at the top.
Size approximations: Length 8.5", width 5.8", height 11".
Remarkably clean and preserved for its age. The wood joining remains very solid, including the slats that run across the bottom.
Nothing broken, no dents, etc. Some areas of rust on the metal seams that reinforce the two sides of the box. Metal seam very slightly bubbled in two places away from the wood. Four little blue spots on top piece. Overall really nice colors. Please review all pictures to review condition.
According to the 2002 book by Bob Stoddard entitled "The Encyclopedia of Pepsi Collectibles", page 136, it was rated as a C+ then and valued at 5. I am starting my auction at half the the 2002 price!
I am selling my entire Pepsi collection, with about 100 more items to list.... radios, 3D cardboard girls, syrup tins, vintage clocks, trolley signs, paper cups, etc, so please be on the lookout for more great items in the next month++. All items have been preciously stored away for the last (up to) 16 years and it's time to pass them on to someone who can continue the Pepsi love!
Shipping is cost dependent upon your location. I will combine shipping where possible, so if you win multiple items, please wait for an invoice before paying. I provide feedback upon receipt of payment, and I hope you do the same upon receipt of your item. Thank you for looking and good luck on this item!
